Korean based womenswear label, KUHO will debut in the US during New York fashion week with their Spring 2017 collection. With an emphasis on flawless luxury, comfort and functionality, each season offers up effortlessly cool, minimalist pieces that often find their roots in the creative sphere. Fine art, ballet, photography and architecture have all played roles in past collections and shaped previous ad campaigns to striking effect.
KUHO plays with shape and form to create streamlined clothing that is at once strong and delicate, structured yet fluid and that will take the wearer from work day to the weekend. In short, KUHO is the modern, thinking woman’s wardrobe. Clean, uncomplicated lines point to someone with more than clothing on her mind, while playful flourishes reveal an understated style maven, confidently setting her own sartorial rules. Largely devoid of embellishment, the label instead uses bold prints, unexpected pops of color and rich fabrics (that are custom-developed by KUHO), to make a statement.
A label from Samsung C&T Fashion Group, KUHO includes clothing, shoes and accessories, all made in Korea using its own fabric mills. Samsung Corporation, which began as a textile firm in 1954, has since become known for its developments in electronics, bio and finance, but remains rooted in fashion and textiles with Samsung C&T Fashion.
Group. KUHO’s ability to create its own fabrics allows for custom-developed water-repellent wools, luxurious cottons and cotton/nylon that is used in the collections, which is set at a contemporary price point.
Samsung C&T Fashion Group have been supporters of the CFDA Fashion Awards since 2010 and have their sights set on aiding the growth of Korea’s fashion market.
This year marks KUHO’s thirteenth Heart for Eye campaign, a charity founded by KUHO in 2006 that supports children with visual impairment. By donating profits from t-shirts, stamped with endearing, childlike heart graphics, KUHO continues to support the charity’s ongoing work.
